A significant data breach occurred at MicroStock.ru, a prominent Russian online forum dedicated to photographers and digital artists. The incident involved the unauthorized exposure of a database containing information for approximately 153,000 users. Security researchers found that the leaked data contains sensitive personal details and authentication credentials. The compromise included email addresses, unique nicknames, IP addresses used for access, and dates of birth. Furthermore, user passwords were leaked in MD5 hashed format with salt, which poses a security risk as these can be decrypted via brute force or rainbow table attacks.
