In April 2025 the major Iranian mobile operator Hamrah e Aval also known as MCI suffered a significant data breach affecting approximately 300000 customers. The incident involved the exposure of sensitive subscriber information including full names and email addresses. This data leak poses a threat to user privacy as the information can be leveraged for targeted phishing campaigns or identity verification exploits against the telecommunications provider infrastructure.
