In March 2025 the online discussion platform ForumVolt experienced a significant data breach affecting approximately 7 thousand registered users. The incident resulted in the unauthorized exposure of sensitive user credentials and technical metadata. The leaked information includes member nicknames, email addresses, IP addresses, and message statistics. Crucially, the breach also exposed user passwords stored as MD5 hashes with salt, which pose a security risk. The data was discovered being distributed on public forums, highlighting the vulnerability of the platform social and resource-sharing infrastructure.
